Breakfast – the most important meal of the day. You’ve heard it before, and you will most likely hear it again. But, it’s true. Waking up at 5AM, or 11AM, for a lazy day or productive one, it makes no difference, a good breakfast will set you up for the day ahead and make you feel good. So, what’s the secret for a breakfast that will achieve this without being hit in the face by
a sugar slump after running for the bus five minutes later? Nuts, oats, seeds, fruit, anything unprocessed and natural is guaranteed to make the mornings feel just a little bit easier.
In the summer, plain oats, a sliced banana, sprinkling of seeds and slosh of oat milk (or whatever milk floats your boat) will provide energy for your morning and mean you close your front door feeling good. Maybe sit outside in the morning sun to eat?
In the winter, try a similar recipe but with porridge. Slowly heat the milk and oats over the hob, stirring regularly, and add seeds, and blueberries for a colourful purple twist as they explode. Adorn with banana, nuts, cinnamon or whatever you fancy, loading your breakfast with vitamins, natural antidepressants, anti-inflammatories and energy.
