The leaves are falling, the woolly jumpers are coming out and it’s definitely getting chilly. This can only mean one thing. Autumn is here! So, with the cooler weather fast approaching, it’s only right to kit yourself out with an arsenal of warming drinks to fight the chill that autumn brings.
Firstly, herbal teas are wonderful for hydration, digestion, boosting your immune system, relieving stress and much more. For example, chamomile has soothing qualities that will help with sleep and relieve stress. This has been linked to an improvement in skin quality, as a good night’s sleep will do wonders for your complexion, though jasmine, green and rooibos teas are also connected to improved skin quality.
Peppermint tea can improve digestive health, settle an unhappy stomach or nausea as well as reduce bloating. It also just tastes really good…
Ginger tea has a multitude of benefits, from acting as an anti-inflammatory, improve digestion and circulation and help the body absorb nutrients. The best thing is, you can just cut up some root ginger and perhaps peel it, rather than going through millions of teabags.
Herbal tea is so versatile, you can have it on the go, in the morning or evening, as well as on a lazy day.
Alternatively, if all you’re craving is a cosy evening in, hot chocolate is in order. Consider using coconut milk, with cocoa powder instead of hot chocolate powder, tumeric and a pinch of cinnamon and brown sugar if needed. You could even add some chilli for an added twist… This will have greater health benefits than the sugary shop brought powders, and allows you to play around to find your own unique concoction.
It is a good idea to invest in a reusable cup or thermos to cut down on waste! Youcan then stay warmed from the inside out ALL DAY!
