Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!


We all know that in hot weather, staying hydrated is of the utmost importance. To avoid dehydration, the body needs to replenish liquids lost from sweat. There are however more exciting ways of accomplishing this than chugging water all day long. Whilst water is definitely not to be ignored, making other hydrating refreshments can add some more fun to an otherwise sweaty day.

Perhaps the easiest example, is adding fruit or other natural flavouring to water – my favourite is lime and mint leaves. Also, adding small pieces of fruit, like chopped strawberries or blueberries, when making homemade ice cubes will not only add flavour, but cool you down more also!

Smoothies are also a good way to not only hydrate, but get a bunch load of vitamins at the same time. The method is easy, fill a blender with your favorite fruit, ice and a dash of water and voila!

Lastly, Sativa Shakes are also a really great way incorporate fibre, beneficial fats and omega 3, 6, and 9 into your diet. Whether before a workout, between meals or as a meal replacer – a Sativa Shake will hydrate and give nutrients to the body, all whilst avoiding damage to the planet and its animals.
